Also, the city of Gimhae selected a color that symbolizes Gimhae and two base colors that go well with the symbolic color.
We've selected Suro Green which was the most preferred color in the citizens color preference surveys and expert surveys as the symbolic color of Gimhae. This color was extracted from the burial mound and grass (Early Summer in June) of the tomb of King Suro who founded Geumgwan Gaya Kingdom.
Green is one of the three primary colors and it represent stability and safety. It also symbolizes environment, ecosystem, freshness, patience, rest, nature, plants and tress, composure, generosity, health, confidence and resilience. The color is also related to sociableness, joy, regeneration, perfection and neutrality.
Bright Tomb Brown is the same color as the artifacts and the earth of the Ancient Tombs in Daeseong-dong, Gimhae. It represents the history and background of Gimhae and it symbolizes purity, foundation, earth, land and our ancestors.
The Ancient Tombs in Daeseong-dong offered us many artifacts that helped us understand the culture, society and identity of the Geumgwan Gaya Kingdom. This color can be found in Buncheong Ceramics, the Earthenware Horn Cup in the Shape of a Warrior on Horseback and Clayarch Gimhae Museum.
Gimhae translates to "country that has a sea of iron". Geumgwan Gaya which was the leading power during the early Gaya Period some 2,000 years ago had a glorious iron culture. In the history of Gaya, the most important material was iron and iron is the most abundantly found material in ancient Gaya artifacts along with earthenwares.
The color Gaya Armor Iron is a color of culture, construction, industry, progressiveness, development and superiority and it symbolizes maturity and history.
The city of Gimhae developed symbolic super graphic designs based on the artifacts excavated in Gimhae. The designs are modern visual interpretation of Gaya cultures and they contribute to establishing the history of Gimhae as the old capital of Gaya and to creating aesthetics for the city. The city of Gimhae provides these designs for free for apartment repainting work and landscaping designing of apartment buildings and large structures. You can find detailed information below
